Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's, Springfield Hospital Center is seeking a Unit Director, Board Certified in Psychiatry.  The Unit Director has responsibility for direct oversight and management/administration of unit-based activities and supervision of clinical staff assigned to the unit. The Unit Director will function as a fully privileged member of the Medical Staff of Springfield Hospital Center.  This position will provide full psychiatric care, forensic evaluation and medical screening, as necessary, in conjunction with the medical clinic.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires an MD degree from an accredited college or university, Board Certification in Psychiatry, and two years of medical practice as a Psychiatrist, preferably at a supervisory or administrative level.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Applicants must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law. A copy of the current license must be attached to the application. A copy of your license must be attached to your application.
