Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Regional Director for the Developmental Disabilities Administration's Central Maryland Regional Office (CMRO). This position provides oversight of DDA funded community-based services to over 10,000 people with developmental disabilities in the Central Maryland Region. This includes planning, administering, coordinating and evaluating services to achieve maximum program and fiscal efficiency and effectiveness. The Regional Director is responsible for developing community based services for people including those with the complex medical/behavioral needs.  This position provides comprehensive leadership to multiple community support programs, ensures outstanding services, and develops relationships with people with disabilities, their families, guardians, state entities, providers and a diverse team of employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and six (6) years of professional experience in health or human services including management of budgets and staffing, three (3) years of which must have been professional work related to services to persons with developmental disability and three (3) years of which must have been at the managerial and/or supervisory level. 

A Master’s degree will substitute for one year of general experience.  A Doctorate will substitute for two years general experience.  Additional experience will substitute year-for-year for the college degree. 

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

The qualified candidate must possess at least 3 years of experience in the provisions of community based services, including but not limited to: residential, day, supported employment and personal support services.  Candidates must also possess demonstrated experience with collaborative efforts to improve and modernize service delivery.
