Main Purpose of Job

Serves the financial and production goals of the division by assisting in the creation of promotional materials in support of MPT's marketing plan for our products, program and services. Participates as a member of the Creative Services team in helping to produce station broadcast promotion, station image messaging and promotional campaigns. Position serves to represent MPT's digital production capabilities in the Creative Services area.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Write, produce and edit simple broadcast promotional messages as assigned.  Assist in the weekly promo post-production sessions.  Assist Senior Producers in creating broadcast promotional messages.  Duties include:  researching and reviewing video footage, logging clips, uploading and downloading files in various formats and sizes, transferring files to AVID or other locations, script writing, editing in AVID Symphony, assisting Senior Producers at location or studio shoots, making labels, archiving and storing projects and source materials.
  • Research, write and create nightly channel next-ons for air on MPT-HD.  Write, produce and edit program change or special notices as assigned.  Create pre-production graphic files and ingest or download necessary video files for weekly promo post sessions.  label, store and archive files.
  • Monitor PBS, APT, BBC and other syndicators for all relevant feed information.  coordinate with the traffic department to record and store all weekly and any special promo feeds.  Label, archive and store all relevant materials for future retrieval.  Retrieve needed materials as assigned.  maintain the promo tape library.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications, Media or a related field and one year of related experience
