Main Purpose of Job

The entry of Safety Equipment Repair Orders (SERO's) into the IBM Automotive Safety Enforcement Division (ASED) computer system. The data entry must be accurate to the ASED production schedule.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

None

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:

1) Minimum of 6 months experience imputing data from source documents into a computer, magnetic tape or disk.

2) Experience working at the municipal, county, state or federal level.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Candidates must demonstrate ability to keyboard forty words per minute on a standard keyboard or one hundred keystrokes per minute on data entry equipment.

2. Employees in this classification must meet production standards established by the employing agency.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection for this process will involve a review of each application. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be placed on an eligible list in the BEST, BETTER or QUALIFIED category. The list will be used by the hiring manager to select the individual to fill the vacancy.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

Keyboarding:

Skill in keyboarding at a minimum of forty words per minute on a standard keyboard or one hundred keystrokes per minute on data entry equipment.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
