To provide effective and efficient operation of support services functions to include the Mail Room, Supply Room, Courier Services and external postal and bulk mail services. Receive, post and maintain records of incoming Agency purchases. Assist with the Agency's promotion programs to include contest mailing and distribution of materials.  Candidates appointed to this position will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employee assigned such duties will be required to possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license.

Maintain inventory records and reports for management  

Distributes office supplies, fax transmissions, and mail to company personnel

Responds to and coordinates all support service calls

Transports mail items to locations within and outside of the work site

Conducts periodic physical inventory of equipment 

Performs duties related to the shipping and/or receiving of materials  

Assists with the operation of courier services and transportation

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Note:

1. Additional experience as stated above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*Experience working in a mail room

*Experience working with supply inventory systems

Candidates appointed to this position will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.  Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

The assessment may consist of a rating of your education, training and experience related to the requirements of the position. The rating may also be based on your application. Qualified candidates will be rated as either Best Qualified, Better Qualified, or Qualified and placed on the eligible list for a period of at least one year.

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
