LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
The Department of Natural Resources, Human Resource Service, is currently accepting applications for a long term contractual Personnel Associate II position located in Annapolis, Maryland. The main purpose of this position is to support the daily operational and administrative needs of the Human Resource Service.
This position will assist the Recruitment Manager with administrative aspects of recruiting for skilled, professional and management service positions within the department, as well as with the development and review of permanent, long term contractual, and seasonal position announcements. Position duties include, but are not limited to the following: Reviewing and annotating applications, resumes, and supporting documentation (transcripts, certifications, etc...) to determine minimum/selective qualifications; approving/disapproving applications in JobAps; providing guidance and direction to DNR Internal customers with regard to the recruitment process, and conducting employment references and education verification.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three (3) years of general clerical or administrative support experience at least one year of which must have been paraprofessional personnel experience involving the application of public sector procedures, policies, rules and regulations to specific employment actions. Appropriate paraprofessional personnel experience should have included responsibility for activities such as, preparing and maintaining employment records, calculating salaries, applying and interpreting rules and policies, preparing personnel-related reports, counseling employees regarding benefits and obligations, and responding to inquiries concerning employment actions.
Note:
1. One (1) additional year of paraprofessional personnel experience as defined above may be substituted for one year of general clerical or administrative support experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in human resources assistance classification or human resources assistance specialty codes in the human resources management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
