Introduction

This is a position specific recruitment for the Department of Natural Resources, Licensing and Registration Service- Annapolis, MD.  This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies for this position/function only.  The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year.  Persons interested in future vacancies within this classification must re-apply at that time.  The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.

LOCATION OF POSITION

Annapolis, MD (Anne Arundel County)

Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources, Licensing & Registration Service, in Annapolis Maryland, is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Specialist I. The selected candidate secures the procurement, control and distribution of decal inventory, forms and other supplies necessary for the operation of the Department's seven Regional Service Centers and Licensing's administrative office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience: None

Notes:  

1. Candidates may substitute one year of experience in administrative or professional work for the required education, at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies  on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with FMIS (particulary R*STARS and ADPICS) and other Maryland government databases is preferred.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
