Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide administrative assistance to the Health Facilities Survey Coordinators, Program Manager and Deputy Director which includes the oversight and management of administrative sanction fee correspondence. This employee will also provide support and assistance for the Assisted Living Program, which is inclusive of (approximately 1,500 licensed facilities) and administrative support staff. This position analyzes and interprets assisted living regulations regarding stakeholder requests per help desk inquiries , personal interviews and public information requests. This position also researches, complies and scrutinize program data for the identification application and survey trends and in preparation of monthly statistical reports. Additionally, this position will assist the Health Facility Coordinator with establishing and implementation of office policies and provide support and guidance with training. This position is also responsible for reconciling of bank statements for both ALP and AMDC regarding daily fees and checks. This position will assume responsibility for identifying application/licensure trends that would ensure consistency and recommendations of process streamlining.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience: One year of experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of required education.

2. Candidates may substitute 90 credit hours at an accredited college or university for the required education and experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should have experience in multi-tasking, leading/supervising staff, and flexibility with culture change within the organization.  Elementary knowledge of methods and techniques used in collecting, compiling, and organizing data and information; Skill in the use of office automation software and its application; in operating manual and automated office equipment.   Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; to present ideas and information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; to perform mathematical computations; to present statistical material in chart and graph form.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
