Main Purpose of Job

This position leads, monitors, and coordinates a wide range of complex strategic health efforts, with particular emphasis on evaluating, analyzing, researching, and developing policies and programs to improve health systems interventions across the State of Maryland. This position procures and manages health systems contracts and provides clinical quality improvement support and project management support for all health interventions and performance measures across the state in collaboration with partners. The position serves as the Domain 3 (Health Systems) lead for the State Public Health Actions (1305) grant, with a focus on health systems improvement strategies to address cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Note:

A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate will have work experience with health systems on population health programs. Preferred candidates will also have experience conveying the importance of public health, managing projects and engaging with public health partners.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
