Main Purpose of Job
This position supervises and coordinates workload activities for lower-level fingerprint specialists. The incumbent will verify and certify the work of lower-level fingerprint specialists performing fingerprint matching and makes final determination at the third stage regarding disrepancies in the absence of the Fingerprint Manager. This position supports a 24/7 mission critical essential operation responsible for processing criminal identifications and background checks for Criminal Justice and Non-Criminal Justice agencies.
POSITION DUTIES
Some of the duties for this position include:
Supervising the work of lower-level fingerprint specialists;
Managing and monitoring automated workflow processes to meet performance data associated with multiple databases;
Responsible for the processing of 2nd/3rd stage fingerprinting matching;
Performs other duties associated with emergency staff;
And performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of experience examining, classifying and identifying fingerprints.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Candidates are subject to a criminal records check before a permanent appointment can be made. A criminal conviction record may be grounds for rejection of the applicant by the hiring agency.
2. Employees are subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, will be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached
