Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for the administration of all clinical departments, programs, and services at Springfield Hospital Center, assuring the delivery of quality patient care and meeting all standards of accreditation, licensing and regulatory bodies.  The incumbent will provide leadership to, oversee and supervise the clinical Program Directors (Acute Services and Recovery, the lead psychiatrists, the President of the Medical Staff, the Chairman of the Department of Medicine, Clinical Department and Service Heads (including Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Pharmacy, Rehabilitation, Health Information Services, Addiction/Co-Occurring disorders/Trauma Recovery Sexual Disorders (ACTRS), Admissions , and Director of Forensic Services (and Clinical aspects of Dietary) and selected projects (e.g. the Reduction of Aggressive Behavior & Seclusion and Restraint/6-Core Strategies).  This position is also responsible for development/design and implementation of hospital clinical program and practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires an MD degree from an accredited college or university, Board Certification in Psychiatry, and a minimum of two years of experience in the practice of inpatient psychiatric care and administration. 

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
