Member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, seven (7) years practice of transportation law, oil and gas law, public utilities law, environmental law, administrative law, personnel law or general litigation, including three (3) years in a managerial capacity; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
•Directs legal services to the Commission in a manner that ensures effective representation in various state and federal courts and administrative bodies, and that ensures thorough legal research and appropriate legal advice.
•Directs and supervises the preparation and implementation of the budget for the Office of General Counsel.
•Directs the development and implementation of division operational policies and procedures. Directs division compliance with agency operation policies.
•Directs and supervises division personnel practices; approves new employee selections, promotions, and other personnel actions; directs training for division employees.
•Advises Commissioners regarding division operations, changes in legislation, and agency policies and procedures.
•Reviews and approves staff operational and policy recommendations; serves as senior advisor on cases in presenting staff’s position to the Commission.
•Represents Office of General Counsel and/or Commission when responding to inquires and requests for information from the legislature, industry, and general public.
•Fosters a high ethical standard for professional and other OGC personnel and directs training or professional development opportunities for Office of General Counsel employees.
•Performs related work as required and assigned.
