The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is seeking a self-motivated person to join the organization as a Systems Administrator. The Systems Administrator should possess the skills necessary to support the activities related to the installation, implementation, administration, maintenance, security and documentation of infrastructure server systems, storage systems and enterprise infrastructure applications in accordance with established procedures and policies.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the following:
Plans, designs, implements and documents data center systems, including servers, storage systems, operating systems and software applications.
Installs and maintains infrastructure server hardware, including rack-mount and blade system server hardware.
Installs and maintains highly-available MS Exchange corporate email infrastructure.
Installs and maintains highly-available MS SharePoint / Project Server farm according to MS best practices and user requirements.
Installs and maintains corporate mobile device connectivity via Blackberry Enterprise Server.
Integrates SharePoint / PWA installation with related external applications, including Active Directory and Exchange.
Installs and maintains infrastructure storage hardware, including enterprise-class and modular disk-based storage systems.
Installs and maintains infrastructure storage network environment, including cable plant, SAN fabric switches, and HBAs.
Installs and maintains MS Active Directory environment, including management of domain controller infrastructure, computer and user account/group objects, Group Policy objects, replication and schema
Provides primary or secondary support, as assigned, for infrastructure and end-user applications served from the data center.
Installs new software releases, patches and updates.
Makes recommendations for equipment and service purchases, working with vendors to facilitate procurement.
Along with networking team, responsible for the data center cabling plant, both copper and fiber.
Responsible for health and maintenance of data center environment, including monitoring power and cooling systems.
Monitors system performance and capacity.
Maintains system documentation.
Performs other duties as required
Job Requirements:
Strong knowledge of server and storage hardware
Strong knowledge of current Windows server and client operating systems
Strong knowledge of current MS Exchange technologies
Strong knowledge of Blackberry Enterprise Server platform
Strong knowledge of current MS SharePoint and related technologies, including planning, deployment, monitoring and tuning of SharePoint Portal Server and Windows SharePoint Services
Working knowledge of MS Project Server and MS Project Portfolio Server
Strong knowledge of HTML and client-side scripting
Strong knowledge of current MS SQL server technologies
Strong knowledge of Windows Active Directory
Strong knowledge of Windows-based infrastructure technologies, including file and print services, NTFS share and folder permissions, terminal services, failover and load-balancing clustering services, IIS, DNS, DHCP, etc.
Strong knowledge of MS System Center applications
Strong knowledge of Storage Area Network technologies, including HBAs, fiber cabling, zoning, and SAN switch management
Strong knowledge of current data center technologies, including blade server hardware, operating system virtualization (both software and hardware based), application virtualization and high-availability/clustering
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP LAN technologies
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Working knowledge of data cabling standards
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong troubleshooting skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, when required
Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
Education / Experience:
At least four (4) years of work experience in system administration
Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related technical field preferred
Equivalent related work experience may be substituted for education requirement
Current MCSA/MCSE/MCTS/MCITP preferred
