The Welder job family consists of three levels which are distinguished based on the duties assigned, the expertise required to perform assigned work, and the responsibility assigned for providing supervision to others.
Level II:
At this level employees are assigned responsibilities involving highly skilled maintenance and repair welding work, which may include operating machine tools such as milling machines and metal lathes in order to mend and fabricate replacement parts, and providing supervision to other skilled, semiskilled or unskilled personnel engaged in performing welding duties. In this role, they will plan, organize and control the work being done within general guidelines.
