This position is location in the Identification Unit within the Information Services Division at OSBI Headquarters in Oklahoma City.
MAJOR WORK DUTIES:
1.Process incoming criminal and civilian fingerprint cards using the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).
2.Fingerprint person for civilian purposes.
3.Complete weekly and monthly reports.
4.Search fingerprints using the Henry System and NCIC Classification System.
Successful applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screen, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation (commissioned positions only), and a thorough background investigation. Certain events automatically disqualify an applicant, such as, felony conviction; admission of an undetected crime that, if known, would have been a felony charge; failure to pay federal or state income tax; positive confirmed drug urine test; illegal use of a controlled substance within certain time frames.
The positions within this job family are responsible for the examination, interpretation, classification, analysis and identification of fingerprints of arrestees through manual or automated fingerprint identification systems.
The Fingerprint Specialist job family consists of four levels which are distinguished by the type and complexity of work and the responsibility assigned for the supervision of others.
This is the career level where incumbents perform basic, routine work in the examination, interpretation, classification, analysis and identification of fingerprints through manual or automated systems.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of one year of experience in the examination, classification and identification of fingerprints.
