This position is located at Ft. Cobb State Park.
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving patrolling park/resort grounds and property and the enforcement of laws, rules and regulations within the assigned area of responsibility. This includes insuring the safety and welfare of park/resort visitors and assigned staff.
The Park Ranger job family consists of four levels which are distinguished based on the complexity of assigned duties, the expertise required for various responsibilities and the responsibility assigned for providing leadership to others.
This is the career level where employees are assigned responsibilities at the full performance level for patrolling assigned areas, protecting property and individuals, and enforcing applicable laws and rules as well as providing assistance to visitors. Some responsibilities may be assigned for assisting in various administrative duties that are assigned at the leadership level and providing training or assistance to other park rangers as needed.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of ninety semester hours from an accredited college or university including eighteen hours in park management, criminal justice, outdoor recreation or environmental science; or three years of experience in park supervisory and/or recreation program work, law enforcement or environmental science; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
