Major Work Duties: Supervises and directs staff to ensure policy and procedures compliance in the areas of Direct Care (Youth Guidance Specialists) and the Security Department. Other departments may be assigned based on knowledge and skills. Oversees the Incident Reporting System (IRS) at the facility. Assists in the inspection of the physical plant, equipment, and grounds to evaluate operating efficiency. Reviews all physical force videos to ensure compliance. Schedules and conducts procedural audits and evaluations to ensure emergency readiness of facility staff. Serve as technical consultant to institutional staff by problem solving difficult case situations and personal issues to achieve resolution as needed. Assist the Institutional Superintendent in supervising and coordinating all institutional staff and programs as instructed. Attend and/or conduct, as needed, all required meetings as assigned to include but not limited to, Executive, AOC, PMC, ITT, General Staff, Juvenile Council, Policy Task Force and SRT member as assigned. Serve as AOC. Functions as the Institutional Superintendent in the absence of Superintendent.
Preferred Education/Experience: The preferred candidate will have a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, business or public administration, or a closely related field; and seven(7) years of experience in social services, guidance and counseling, intake or probation and parole, including five(5) years in a supervisory position with a social service institution or agency in a program providing services to children; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special requirements: Must be able to pass background check and drug screening. A probation/trial period may be required. Applicants must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
