BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION
Position resides in Cost Accounting/Revenue Enhancement Unit of OKDHS Finance Division. Under administrative direction, plans, organizes, coordinates, directs and supervises the fiscal operations for a major state agency.
TYPICAL FUNCTIONS
Directs the installation and maintenance of all phases of fiscal operations. Directs the formulation of budget requests and operating budgets; consults with program directors on budgetary needs; manages the operating budget. Reviews and approves expenditures and the transfer of funds between accounts. Supervises preparation of accounting and administrative reports to reflect fiscal operations. Supervises processing of receipts for deposit with State Treasury. Performs related work as required and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of governmental accounting, auditing and fiscal principles; the principles, practices and techniques relating to accounting procedures; or internal auditing practices and procedures; and of establishing and maintaining financial records. Skill in relating abstract ideas to actual needs; in expressing complex procedures clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; and in organizing, directing and supervising the work of others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of the curriculum requirements for a baccalaureate degree in business or public administration, or a closely related field; and 6 years of experience in professional accounting, including 3 years supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a full-time unclassified state position with full state retirement and insurance benefits, including paid health, dental, life, and disability insurance. Annual leave of 10 hours per month and sick leave of 10 hours per month begin accruing immediately.
