The Communication Team at the Oklahoma Department of Commerce is an interactive design team that focuses on igniting creative passion with technology. Our ultimate mission is to help promote the state of Oklahoma as the ultimate location for business development. We strive to get more out of the agency marketing dollars by using the right approach, the first time. We provide a full-service marketing and communication menu whether in-house or combining our expertise with other partners, to achieve great results for the agency and our clients. Our range of services includes web design and development, branding, marketing consulting, graphic design, social media among others.
The Marketing Manager positions will work on both interactive and marketing projects, and will interact with both internal and external teams and clients to keep projects on track and moving forward as well as contributing to content development. The ideal candidates will be proactive, ambitious, self-starter and positive attitude with the ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment adapting to same day turnarounds and priorities quickly changing. Qualified candidates must have exceptional communication, organizational and writing skills. Requires the ability to think creatively and bring innovative solutions to marketing challenges. Familiarity with marketing tactics, creative development and internet technology is preferred. Experience is required in managing projects and working with deadlines, working with printing, specialty and production companies. Successful candidates must be able to work independently and in a group setting.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
•Ability to communicate with internal/external teams, clients and vendors regarding project deliverables and details.
•Create and manage project plans and schedules.
•Manage multiple, simultaneous project schedules working under direction of cross functional team members that may include internal and external resources.
•Create, track and manage estimates and budgets.
•Oversee print production management and vendor coordination.
•Research media outlet opportunities working with public relation and creative vendors.
•Write, edit and proof content on a variety of projects and plans, as assigned.
•Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or business with a minimum of 3 years related experience in marketing or project management. Experience with website design and development is a plus. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite-particularly InDesign is a plus.
