The Department of Consumer Credit is seeking an experienced Chief Consumer Credit Examiner. This position is a full-time, unclassified position in state government and will be eligible for total rewards package. Benefits include medical, dental, life, and disability insurance products as well as defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans. Employees earn three weeks paid annual leave and three weeks sick leave in the first year, in addition to 11 paid holidays annually and longevity pay.

Job duties:
Manages and supervises the operations of the Examination Division;

Schedules, coordinates and reviews examinations;

Receives and resolves all written complaints with some form of acknowledgement to the public within five working days and the general resolution within four working weeks;

Assigns and reviews matters for investigation;

Trains examination staff regarding examination and investigation policies and procedures;

Assists in developing, revising and implementing all documents needed for examinations, investigations and licensing in all areas of enforcement the Department enforces according to Oklahoma Law and to insure all state and federal laws and regulations are followed;

Monitors federal and state laws and regulations;

Attends conferences and meetings as assigned as a representative of the Department and may serve as a spokesperson or presenter for the Department at such conferences and meetings.

Assists in the preparation of the Examination Division budget;
Perform routine duties of the Deputy Administrator in his/her absence or at his/her discretion;

Performs other duties and requirements as may be determined and established by the Administrator.

 
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or public administration
(or)
One year of auditing/examination experience, compliance experience with a business entity or government agency for each year of required education;
Two years of supervisory experience;
Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and processes;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Shall possess the following skills, knowledge and abilities:
A high degree of interpersonal skills to establish and maintain working relationships with Office of the Governor, Legislature, other agency directors, Commissioners, members of the media, consumer advocates, industry representatives, consumers and licensees;

Skilled in communications: oral, written, telephonic and computer;

Knowledgeable of management principles, consumer credit and consumer transactions;

Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
