Under direction of the Executive Director supervises the recreational therapy staff at the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.  With a thorough knowledge of psychiatric and co-occurring disorders, such as substance abuse, the individual completes assessments and provides individual and/or group rehabilitation and expressive therapies.  Responsible for monitoring the quality of care, supervision of clinical staff and assist in program development as indicated.

Minimum Qualifications
Requirements consist of a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation and national certification for Therapeutic Recreation and five years of professional level experience working with the mentally ill, including one year in an administrative or supervisory capacity

OR

an equivalent combination of education and experience.

NOTE:  There will be no substitution slowed for the required one year of experience working in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
