Main Purpose of Job

This Lead position trains, assigns, reviews and approves the work of lower level agency grants specialists.The Lead position will support the evaluation of grant proposals, preparation of necessary documentation for distributing grant funds, monitoring expenditure of agency funds by grantees, and reporting on projections for programs fiscal needs and expenditures. This position will be responsible for assigning, reviewing, and approving the work and training of lower-level agency grants managers. The position also monitors intergovernemental agreements established for substance related disorder services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in grant evaluation and monitoring or budget preparation, presentation and execution.

Notes:

1. Applicants may substitute graduate education in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, political science or public administration at a rate of 30 semester hours for each year of the required experience.

2. Applicants may substitute additional experience as defined above on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

3.  Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Budget Officer classification or Financial Management specialty codes in the Budgeting field of work on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

The ideal candidate should have experience with federal, state, or private grant account reporting requirements and practices.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
