Dorchester County Department of Social Services is located on Maryland's Eastern Shore, approximately 85 miles southwest of the Baltimore –Washington area, across the Bay Bridge.

Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for procurement contract preparation, processing and development. Duties include preparing and developing functions associated with contract development from the initial stages until the contract has been awarded. Duties also include ordering all equipment and supplies for the agency and ensuring that all MBE laws and regulations are adhered to.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Please describe in detail any job duties relating to the minimum qualifications stated below and include any computer software experience (Excel, CHESSIE, Powerpoint, Word etc.) used in the each of the positions you held

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years experience performing work involving the preparation, assembly, and processing of procurement related documents necessary in developing procurement contracts.

Note:

1. Candidates may substitute education at an accredited college or university for the required experience at a rate of thirty credit hours for each year of experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Contracting and Industrial Management classifications or specialty codes in the Procurement field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
