Introduction

The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR)/Division of Unemployment Insurance (DUI/Contributions Division, Experience Rate Unit is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Contributions Specialist Supervisor.

Main Purpose of Job

The main duties of the position will be to: Assist the Administrator I of the Experience Rate Unit with rating multiple predecessor accounts, review work of the staff, assisting with PEPs, and assist with training and advising staff in work procedures.

POSITION DUTIES

The primary purpose of this position will be to: Supervise the Contributions Specialist and Contributions Specialist Lead within the Experience Rate Unit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three years of experience rendering determinations related to unemployment insurance contributions; or obtaining and evaluating facts pertinent to an alleged unemployment insurance disqualifying issue and preparing a decision justifying the determination; or reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting, and balancing financial transactions.

Notes: 1. Four years of general clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

2. Three years of experience gathering information used to render determinations related to unemployment insurance contributions; or rendering determinations involving unemployment insurance claims, such as disputed claims, appeals, and overpayments may be substituted for the Associate of Arts degree.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Internal Review classifications or Auditing specialty codes in the Financial or Auditing fields of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Internet, email and Microsoft Word and Excel.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

All candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (DLLR/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to DLLR/DUI as a result of an unemployment insurance overpayment and/or fraud.  Any unpaid debt may have an impact on whether or not a candidate is offered employment.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.

A copy of your proof of eligibility (DD 214) for Veterans’ Credit must be in this office and completely verified before Veterans’ Credit will be approved.  Permanent State employees do not need to submit proof of eligibility for Veterans’ Credit.
