LOCATION OF POSITION
DHMH, Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC), Baltimore, MD
Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to inspect Medical Cannabis growth facilities, growing controls, cultivation, and processes to ensure growers are in compliance with the MMCC regulations. This position will also ensure that the crop is grown pest and pathogen free, is healthy, and is consistent in order to maintain quality of final product. The work will involve applying standards as defined in laws/regulations and the inspection of the cannabis cultivation centers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least 24 semester credit hours in one or more of the following; agriculture, agronomy, botany, crops, horticulture, plant pathology, or soils. Classes must be listed on the application or transcript must be attached.
Experience: Three years of experience in agronomic, horticultural, seed or sod work.

3 yrs experience in commercial or research horticulture or related field is desired.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties may be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
