Main Purpose of Job

This position provides administrative support to the Director of Education, Certification & Licensure by managing the day-to-day activities of the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience developing, implementing and conducting training and testing for the certification of providers of emergency medical services.

Notes: 

1. Additional experience as a certified emergency medical services provider, certified emergency medical services instructor or emergency medical services test evaluator may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Emergency Management classifications or Emergency Management specialty codes in the Emergency Management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have experience in program development for courses that have the potential for implementation as an on-line course.

Knowledge of the EMS Education program approval process at either the State or National Level.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification are required to possess current certifications as an Advanced Life Support Emergency Medical Services Provider and Emergency Medical Services Instructor.

2. Persons appointed to positions in this classification are required to maintain current certification as an Advanced Life Support Emergency Medical Services Provider and Emergency Medical Services Instructor.

3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator license valid in the State of Maryland.
