POSITION DUTIES

The incumbent of this position will direct and coordinate the activities of the Distributed Systems Section, which includes Client Services, Server Services, Technical Services and Network Systems. These areas include technical support, security, application support, web presentation support and end-user support for LAN/WAN and Internet Communications, LAN and Web/Internet infrastructure, LOAN and microcomputer equipment and applications, and web content and design for the Intra-net.

Please Note: This position may be subject to call 24 hours a day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where the employee can be reached or will be furnished with a pager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Business or other technology related field to include coursework in machine or assembler computer languages and operating system and data communication technology for large mainframe computers. 

Experience: 10-15 years experience in managing, designing, and/or supporting IT infrastructure in such areas as Networking, Windows Servers, VM’s, Storage, backups, disaster recovery planning, databases, and desktop technologies.Must have knowledge and experience with ITIL processes and procedures and project management.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

Qualifying applicants are subject to an oral interview. Prior to appointment, the selected candidate must successfully undergo a comprehensive background investigation including a review of criminal, MVA and tax records; and determination of legal authorization to work in the United States or under the United States Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
