DHCD is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Servicing Supervisor within the Community Development Administration (CDA Finance Dept.), a nationally recognized state housing finance and community development agency.

LOCATION OF POSITION

7800 Harkins Rd Lanham, MD 20706

DHCD's Headquarters Office is located in Prince George's County at the New Carrollton Metro stop.

POSITION DUTIES

This position is responsible for the supervision of the Single Family and Multi-family servicing and accounting of 12,000 bond funded single family loans totaling approximately $1.5 billion dollars and more than 75 bond funded multi-family project loans totaling over $500 million dollars of outstanding loans. Duties include overseeing accountants who are responsible for the accounting, billing, reporting and maintaining of individual loans and project files. The position requires a high level of data processing knowledge, mortgage loan accounting principles, generally accepted accounting principles, and attention to detail to ensure accurate and complete data.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications are required to be considered for the position. Please read carefully.

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing.

Experience: Five years of experience examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems, records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles to include three years performing advanced duties in the areas of cost accounting, systems accounting, federal fund accounting, or bond and loan accounting.

Notes:

  1. Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with thirty credit hours in Accounting and related courses, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing, for the required education.
  2. Applicants who have met the requirements for admission to the CPA examination prior to July 1, 1974 will be considered to have met the educational requirement referenced above.
  3. Possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or Master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required general accounting experience.
  4. Applicants may substitute one year of professional auditing experience for one year of the required general experience.
  5. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Accounting Officer classification or Financial Management specialty codes in the Accounting field of work on a year for year basis for the required experience and education.  

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates with mortgage loan servicing experience and bond accounting experience will be highly considered for this position.
  • Prior experience with Servicing software systems is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft  Office  Applications  (Excel and Word).

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
