Main Purpose of Job
This is a professional position responsible for providing leadership and coordination of research, evaluation, data use, and accountability program support to local education agencies, research partners, the general public, and to staff at the Department.
POSITION DUTIES
Provide leadership and technical expertise to the Director of Accountability and staff in the coordination of educational research, evaluation and data use goals and priorities. Responsibilities include coordination of collaborative research partnerships; conduct empirical and qualitative research and evaluation as determined by the Department; analyze data and synthesize information; ensure that student, school and system performance are measured meaningfully and appropriate methodologies are applied; prepare written products for a variety of audiences; establish and manage data request guidelines and standards; manage human and technical resources within a project management framework of deadlines and deliverables; provide trainings and resources to build the capacity of staff to use data effectively; and serve as a liaison between MSDE and various publics in carrying out MSDE’s program objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: A Master’s Degree or 36 post baccalaureate credit hours of coursework from an accredited college or university is required.
EXPERIENCE: Eight year(s) of experience in statistical analysis and/or research experience in education-related fields.
NOTES: 1. A Master’s Degree or equivalent 36 credit hours of post baccalaureate course work may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. 2. Two additional years of experience directly related to the position may be substituted for the required Master’s Degree.
