Main Purpose of Job

The Contractual Child Care Provider I provides support to the behavioral health counselors and their clients, primarily pregnant and post partum women during their treatment in an outpatient program. The mothers are permitted to bring their infants and toddlers to treatment services and the program provides child care during the counseling group and individual sessions. The position will coordinate the care provided by the volunteer foster grandmothers, ensuring the provision of a safe and stimulating environment for infants and toddlers. The incumbent also coordinates with the infant and toddler program staff who work with the children on a weekly basis through the Wicomico County Board of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:    High school diploma or GED

Experience:  Child care experience

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.  Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
