Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position has the responsible of printing the Department’s Checks, Custom Forms, Letters and Reports on the Xerox Laser Systems. Prepare Unemployment and other Checks, forms and letters for mailing.  Also schedules tasks with ADC. 

POSITION DUTIES

  • Operates and supports the DLLR computer systems and related peripheral equipment including the host computers that run the DLLR's administrative applications, in addition to the other operational tools, software and computer devices. Areas of responsibility include computer operations, report distribution and tape library. Analyzes and resolves hardware/software problems.   Provides direct operational services and assistance to users on multiple locations and at the remote offices.   
  • Print Unemployment, TRA and Refund Checks, Reports, Custom forms and Letters that are transmitted from the Host Computer (Mainframe - ADC) and prioritize processes based on schedules/needs. Processing and distribution of all production work and assist with the preparation of the check mailing.  
  • Check the print quality to ensure all finished documents are legible and correct.   
  • Maintain optimal print quality by adding supplies to Laser Printers, contacting the appropriate service people when printers (etc) is not functioning properly,  or if problems with Production Jobs contact the appropriate Agency (ADC), System Programmer or Supervisor.    
  • Electronic File Transfer of Data to ADP & other Service Bureaus.     
  • Order paper and other supplies needed for the printers using the FMIS system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience operating multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems.

Notes:

1. Experience operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing or maintaining information may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Fifteen credit hours in computer operation at an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Computer System Operations classifications or Computer System Operations specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates who are familiar with the operations of a Xerox MICR DP 135 copier and the AS400 is a plus.   This position is subject to be on call 24 hours a day and will be considered  “Emergency Essential Personnel” that requires the incumbent to report to work or remain at the work site to continue agency operations during an emergency situation.   This position also requires the candidate to be able to lift at least 50 lbs.  A telephone number, pager or cell phone number, where the employee can be reached, must be provided to the employing agency.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

All candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (DLLR/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to DLLR/DUI as a result of unemployment insurance overpayment/fraud. Any unpaid debt may have an impact on whether or not a candidate is offered employment.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
