This agency will be relocating to Crownsville, MD.  Candidates selected for this position, will be working in Crownsville, MD.

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to ensure compliance by Area Agencies on Aging Supports Planning staff with the requirements, policies, and procedures for Medicaid Supports Planning Services and Maryland's Community First Choice (CFC), Home and Community-Based Options (CO) Waiver, Community Personal Assistance Services (CPAS), and Increased Community Services (ICS) programs.

POSITION DUTIES

The Supports Planning Specialist will act as a liaison for supports planning staff located at the 19 local Area Agencies on Aging to provide technical assistance, training, oversight, and monitor the provision of supports planning services to participants and applicants who are applying to or enrolled in CFC, CO, CPAS, or the ICS program; and will work collaboratively with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to provide assistance to facilitate the operations of these programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.

Notes: 1. Additional professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in a human services related field may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester hours per year for up to two years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications and Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Officer Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.  

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

You must meet both the minimum and selective qualifications to be considered.

One year experience providing technical assistance and training for programs that provide long-term services and supports for older adults and/or individuals with disabilities.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate should possess the following:

1. Experience with Medicaid Home and Community-Based programs;

2. Experience in the areas of regulations and policies;

3. Experience conducting oversight and monitoring activities;

4. Strong written and verbal communications skills;

5. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;

6. Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively;

7. Flexibility in a busy environment;

8. Proficient in Microsoft Office;

9. Experience with web-based tracking systems.
