Washington County Department of Social Services is located in Western Maryland, approximately 75 miles northwest of the Baltimore–Washington area.
Main Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for the Infants and Toddlers attending the Family Center. This position oversees the care, safety and well-being of all the children as well as provides formal and informal parent education for participants.
POSITION DUTIES
Job duties include: planning and implementing developmentally appropriate programming and daily and monthly activities; ensuring compliance with performance standards and child-staff ratios; coordinates room set up in accordance with ITERS (Infant and Toddler Environmental Rating Scale); provides parenting education to participants through classes, workshops and role modeling; ensures that documentation of children's services are accurate and timely; oversees and coordinates training and supervision of staff, interns and volunteers; participates in weekly staff meetings and trainings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: None
Notes:
1. Professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications or Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Office Services job field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of two years classroom supervisory experience with children birth to age three.
Minimum one year experience supervisory experience.
