LOCATION OF POSITION

Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park- Church Creek, MD (Dorchester County)

Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service, is currently accepting applications for three Seasonal Maintenance Positions at Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad in Dorchester County and Bill Burton Fishing Pier State Park in Talbot and Dorchester Counties. Daily tasks include but are not limited to the following:

  • Clean visitor center, administrative building, pavilion, restrooms and other locations
  • Refill bathroom supplies
  • Removal of litter
  • Maintenance of facilities and grounds at both locations

Note: Applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: None.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who works for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.  As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
