Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife and Heritage Service is currently accepting applications for a seasonal contractual Videographer Technician I position which will be based out of the Tawes State Office Building in Annapolis, Maryland. This position works closely with agency personnel and stakeholder groups concerning Maryland's Hunter Retention & Recruitment efforts. The selected candidate will be responsible creating videos related to hunting in Maryland, as well as assisting with current Hunter Retention & Recruitment efforts.

Note: This job requires work out of doors, sometimes in extreme temperatures and may require heavy lifting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

For education obtained outside of the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United States, please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalency evaluating members identified at http://www.naces.org/members.htm with the application.

Education:  Completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university, 18 of which are in videography, video production, video editing, biology, environmental science, natural science, natural resources management, botany, wildlife management, zoology, or a natural resources management related field of study.

Experience:  None.

Notes:

1. Additional experience with video productions and editing can be substituted for the required experience on a year-for year basis for up to two years experience.

2. Additional education beyond sixty credit hours from an accredited college or university in a natural resources related field of study can be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of experience. 

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following.  Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualification(s).

Experience with video productions and editing is preferred but not required.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required licenses should be listed under the "Licenses and Certifications" section of the application to receive credit. Failure to do so may result in being found ineligible for this position.

A Hunting License or Hunter Safety Card is required.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who works for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.  As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
