Introduction

The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR)/Division of Unemployment Insurance (DUI)/Cumberland Claim Center is accepting applications from candidates for the position of Administrator II (Adjudication).

Main Purpose of Job

The main duties of this position will be to supervise and coordinate the activities of UI Claim Center Specialist Supervisors and UI Claim Center Specialists in a claim center.

POSITION DUTIES

The selected candidate will provide administrative assistance to the Director, in order to provide high quality customer-focused services that regulate the distribution of unemployment insurance benefits in accordance with established guidelines that support the economic stability of the State.  It will also monitor unemployment insurance non-monetary determinations to ensure that they are completed accurately and timely, and that they conform to the Unemployment Law of Maryland, Code of Maryland Regulations, and Unemployment Insurance Division’s policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

A copy of your proof of eligibility (DD 214) for Veterans’ Credit must be in this office and completely verified before Veterans’ Credit will be approved.  Permanent State employees do not need to submit proof of eligibility for Veterans’ Credit.
