Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide assistance and support to the Behavioral Health Program Director in managing the Behavioral Health Program. This position will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the work of assigned subordinate staff. This position will supervise the preparation of the budgets for the Behavioral Health Program and review and/or assist in the development and implementation of the Behavioral Health policies. This position will also represent the Behavioral Health Program as a liaison with community partners and other agencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Determined by Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses under the certification requirements for Nurse Practitioner or Nurse-Midwife.

Experience: None.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for this position should possess a Masters Degree (or higher) in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. This candidate would also possess active an certification for Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing and/or Clinical Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. ***A copy of your certification(s) should accompany your completed application.***

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner or as a Nurse Midwife from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.***Please be sure to include a copy of your current licensure with your completed application.***

2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
