Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to process on-line files Managed Care Organization (MCO) additions, changes, withdrawals, and corrections, including independent verification of the validity of enrollment and disenrollment transactions prior to data entry. This position identifies and resolves problems presented by medical care providers, MCOs and their staff members, the Enrollment Broker, Medical Assistance units and staff members from other state agencies regarding established policies that govern enrollment and disenrollment procedures. This position requires a thorough knowledge and demonstrated application of Medical Assistance policies, regulations, and guidelines; and requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment in making decisions and interpreting and applying policy, procedures, and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.

Notes: 1. Additional general clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. College credits from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience at the rate of 30 credit hours for one year of experience.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
