Main Purpose of Job

This position will provide medical/clinical management and supervision for the Office of Forensics. Duties will include oversight of clinical functions for the Office of Forensics; program development; participation in the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures; provision of clinical guidance to facility forensic coordinators and staff and to community based forensic evaluators; represent the office at court regarding forensic cases when necessary; represent the Director of Forensics at meetings and other related activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a Medical Degree from an accredited medical school, Board Certification in General and Forensic Psychiatry, and at least five (5) years of medical practice working with patients with mental illness and substance use disorders.  At least three (3) years of that experience must be connected to the legal/criminal justice system.  At least two (2) years of the total experience must have been at a supervisory or administrative level in a health care organization or system. 

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will also have knowledge about the public sector Maryland Behavioral Health Care System.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Applicants must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law.  A copy of the current license must be attached to the application.
