Main Purpose of Job
The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Office of Health Care Quality is seeking a Director of Administration. The main functions of the Director of Administration are to direct and coordinate budget, accounting, human resources, information technology, and administrative support services. This position is crucial to the Office of Health Care Quality's (OHCQ) mission, that is, to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Maryland's citizens and to ensure there is public confidence in the health care and community service delivery systems.
At the direction of the Executive Director, this position will establish and approve revisions to administrative priorities, policies, and procedures, and oversee their implementation; ensure the development of short and long-range plans for the OHCQ fiscal, information technology, inventory, fleet management, personnel, and other administrative support services; review organizational structure and staffing needs; develop and implement strategies for improvements in efficient delivery of administrative services; oversee the development and training of administration program staff, as well as plan, coordinate, supervise and evaluate the work of subordinate supervisors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a bachelor’s degree and six years of administrative or professional experience, three years of which must have been at a supervisory or management level. A master’s degree will substitute for one year of general experience. A doctorate will substitute for two years general experience. Additional experience will substitute year-for-year for the college degree.
