Main Purpose of Job

The Regional Director is responsible for leadership, management and oversight for a regionwide network of local services and supports for persons with developmental disabilities provided by a range of private and public organizations. Services include residential, employment and day, and resource coordination as well as specialized behavioral, health and therapeutic services. As the senior representative of DDA, the Regional Director sets the professional tone for the region in terms of the agency mission in supporting responsive services and promoting best practices. Within the office, the Regional Director is responsible for establishing and modeling staff performance expectations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and six (6) years of professional experience in health or human services including management of budgets and staffing, three (3) years of which must have been professional work related to services to persons with developmental disability and three (3) years of which must have been at the managerial and/or supervisory level. 

A Master’s degree will substitute for one year of general experience.  A Doctorate will substitute for two years general experience.  Additional experience will substitute year-for-year for the college degree. 

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The qualified candidate should possess experience in the provisions of community based services, including but not limited to: residential, day, supported employment and personal support services.  Candidates must also possess demonstrated experience with collaborative efforts to improve and modernize service delivery.
