Main Purpose of Job

This position works as part of a team to carryout various functions in support of MLDS Center operations. The primary focus of this position is to analyze various agency processes and then develop detailed business requirements that will help guide those processes to ensure work is completed in an efficient, timely, and highly accurate manner.

POSITION DUTIES

Oversee dashboard development process, including developing business requirements for the dashboards and identifying necessary data elements and analyzing data limitations; develop business requirements to guide database design and data loading processes; create written documentation necessary to develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary and other materials necessary to assist system users’ understanding of the system and its data; analyze data dashboards and other data reports to ensure the data meets the Center’s reporting standards; and develop, document, and maintain data loading quality assurance measures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or other information technology related fields to include course work in database management systems.  

EXPERIENCE:  One year of experience designing, developing, implementing, maintaining and controlling database management systems for computers.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Experience developing detailed business requirements and including identifying necessary data elements to support various business functions; ability to create, implement, and maintain data quality standards for databases and reports; ability to create and maintain documentation on interagency data file transfer protocols; and ability to establish and maintain quality assurance standards.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Proof of eligibility to work in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act and possible travel throughout the State are required. Any misrepresentation of academic or experience requirements for this position may result in non-selection or termination of employment.    The employee will be required to submit to a Criminal History Background Investigation (CHBI) prior to being authorized to have access to the data system.  If the CHBI indicates that the employee has been convicted of a felony of any nature or any crime which qualifies as an infamous crime (including treason, felony, perjury, forgery, obstruction of justice and misdemeanors involving dishonesty) under Maryland law, whether felony or misdemeanor occurring within ten (10) years of the date of hire, the employee shall be terminated.
