Main Purpose of Job

This position determines eligibility and provides case management services for specialized Medical Assistance, Long Term Care (L.T.C.), and other Family Investment programs in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations; completes customer interviews for expedited Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)/Food Supplement Program, Medical Assistance, MA/LTC, Temporary Cash Assistance, Emergency Assistance to Families with Children, Department of Juvenile Services, Foster Care & Adoptions, and Food Supplement; maintains payment accuracy within established guidelines as measured by the PIRAMID Pre-Review System in accordance with Action Transmittal 12-10 Effective date 10/01/11 and Quality Control (QC) Reviews.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Two years of experience determining eligibility for governmental assistance programs.

Notes:

1. Additional experience determining eligibility for governmental assistance programs may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.

2. These requirements are established by the Family Investment Administration by authority provided in Human Services Article Title 5, Subtitle 2, Section 204 (b)(1) of the Annotated Code of Maryland.  The Office of Personnel Services and Benefits of the Department of Budget and Management and the Examination Services Unit of the Department of Human Resources do not have the authority to accept substitutions or equivalents.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Limited to current State of Maryland Employees working for Queen Anne's County Department of Social Services.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
