DHMH/Spring Grove Hospital Center, Maintenance and Plant Management Division, Catonsville, Maryland

The main purpose of this position is to direct and/or supervise the grounds work on the campus of Spring Grove Hospital Center (SGHC). This includes grass cutting and trimming, tree pruning and removal, snow removal, excavation, trash pick up, etc. This position is an Emergency Essential position and required to have and maintain a valid Maryland Driver's License and able to drive a State Vehicle in accordance to State of Maryland Policies and Procedures for Drivers of State Vehicles. This position will receive general supervision and is responsible for supervising skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance workers.

Education: Completion of eighth grade.

Experience: Five years experience in the building maintenence or building construction trades including four years of responsibility for assigning, reviewing and approving the work of other building maintenance or building construction workers.

Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

1. Candidates for positions in the licensed option must possess and maintain a current Maryland First Grade Stationary Engineer License from the Board of Examining Engineers and must list the license number and date on the application.

2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
