LOCATION OF POSITION
DHMH, Spring Grove Hospital Center, Catonsville, MD
Main Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for supervising, maintaining and managing the operation of the Maintenance Dept. Storeroom. To ensure appropriate management, safety and control of supplies, materials, tools, etc. needed to maintain 180 acres with 48 buildings for both Spring Grove Hospital Center and the tenants residing on Spring Grove's Campus. The individual must have and maintain a valid Maryland driver's license to operate State vehicles. This position is emergency essential and receives supervision from a higher level Maintenance Manager/Administrator.
Education: Completion of eighth grade.
Experience: Five years experience in the building maintenence or building construction trades including four years of responsibility for assigning, reviewing and approving the work of other building maintenance or building construction workers.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Candidates for positions in the licensed option must possess and maintain a current Maryland First Grade Stationary Engineer License from the Board of Examining Engineers and must list the license number and date on the application.
2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
