Employees will be assigned to one of four regional offices in Maryland.
Annapolis -Anne Arundel, Harford Counties, Baltimore City
College Park - Prince George's, Howard, Montgomery Counties
Hollywood - St. Mary's, Charles Counties
Salisbury - Wicomico, Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's, Somerset, Talbot, Worcester Counties (Maryland Eastern Shore Counties)

Main Purpose of Job
This is seasonal employment needed to assist with surveillance and control of mosquito population in Maryland. Work involves: handling, mixing and applying pesticides; mosquito collection, field inspection; mosquito surveillance.
A Laboratory/Field Supervisor may supervise one or more contractual employees.
POSITION DUTIES
HOURLY PAY RATES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Field Aides: $10.00 - $12.25

Field Technicians: $11.00 - $13.75

Field Supervisor: $12.00 - $14.75
JOB DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

Supervision
Involves contact with the public, exposure to biting/stinging insects, ticks, poison ivy, pesticides, extensive walking in the suburban, wooded and wetland areas, and driving spray truck. Employees may be required to wear protective equipment. Some shifts involve working evenings and early morning hours.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Age: 16 for Aides and 18 for Technicians and Supervisors
High School Diploma or GED required for Technicians and Supervisors
Technicians and Supervisors must possess a driver's license valid in Maryland, with no more than 5 points on driving record.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Valid driver's license required, with no more than 5 points on driving record.
BENEFITS
Contractual employees who works for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
