Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for addressing high priority projects which include the evaluation, analysis, research, and development of health care services and policies within Policy and Compliance. In particular, this position will be the support analyst for the Provider Enrollment contract to be managed by Policy and Compliance, other related Provider Enrollment special projects, as well as special projects resulting from federal and state legislation and guidance. This involves administrative support; program integrity monitoring; communicating with internal programs and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS); using databases; and preparing reports for internal program monitoring. The position will research, evaluate, and analyze policies and data regarding the Medicaid Program in order to develop internal communication materials and facilitate data-driven analysis and process coordination. This position will work with lead analysts, Directors, Deputy Directors, and Division Chiefs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:    A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A copy of your transcript must be attached to your application.

Experience:  One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

NOTE:

A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who works for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.  As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
