Main Purpose of Job

This is independent work evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies, systems and programs for the Behavioral Health Administration. These may be broad behavioral health service delivery models spanning the system of care across the administration or more limited models of care for a specific program component. Duties include: evaluation of services provided; research of emerging issues; development of new policies; and, analysis of impact of changes on existing programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Two years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

 Notes:

 1. A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

 2. A PhD in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate will have:

-- experience analyzing data, designing surveys and conducting research projects

-- experience in behavioral health

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
