Main Purpose of Job
This position will provide administrative support services to effectively meet the requirements of the Maryland State Approving Agency (SAA) for Veterans Education and Training contract with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). The incumbent will serve as the Administrative Aide responsible for updating tracking sheets, spreadsheets, copying, filing and compiling documents for compliance survey visits performed by the SAA Analysts. Responsibilities will include answering, incoming telephone calls/emails, maintaining the SAA master files, library of school catalogs for approved facilities, all internal records, assisting with institution training sessions and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner. This is a temporary role with specific targeted projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.
Notes:
1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Ability to review complex documents such as project reports, research articles, grant application proposals and distill key points into concise briefing documents

Proficiency in using Word, PowerPoint and Excel in performing work duties

Experience working with databases
