Introduction

This is a position specific recruitment for the Department of Natural Resources, Natural Resources Police. This recruitment will be used to fill current vacancies for the position and may be used to fill future vacancies in the same classification/function. Future vacancies may also be filled via other recruitments. The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year.

Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources, Natural Resources Police, General Direction Program, is currently accepting applications for an Administrator II. The selected candidate will perform daily administrative and operational duties related to grants, budget development and management and procurement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

For education obtained outside of the United States (U.S.), you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the U.S., please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalency evaluating members identified at http://www.naces.org/members.html prior to hire.

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required general experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates not using the education substitution to be approved, must possess the required Selective and Minimum Qualifications.  

One year of administrative and fiscal experience with federal grant management; budget development and monitoring is required.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following.  Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualification(s).

• Experience using FMIS and ADPICS.

• Experience using Microsoft Office and specifically Excel.

• Knowledge of organizational structure, staffing patterns and administrative controls.

• Experience planning and directing the work of others.

• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, staff of other agencies and the general public.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
